2019 Corvette C8. It’s brand new Corvette C8 model. C7 iteration is with us from 2013, while the new generation in question must debut during the next year. Therefore, the current age will be a little shorter, apart from the same life-time market of the C2 model, and all the others will dwell much longer in the market in their time. It seems that all the rumors are about to prove true: a prototype of what appears to be the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette has been spotted again. The latest mid-engine test footage shows the model along the Corvette C7 model believed to be a new ZR1 Range-Excellent.
The mid-engine model is believed to be the next generation Corvette C8 due to the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Given the new shots, we can see that the 2019 Corvette C8 will be similar in size to the C7 but with a lower, wider position. It will not get vertical – raising the doors of many exotic though it seems to be a short front accumulated. It seems that the boats surrounded by the engine bay are a pair of chunky butterflies, and designers are asked to add a sheet of glass in the center to show the engine of the car. One of the biggest challenges is believed to be heat management.
Spies say the models were almost run at night to avoid long distance lenses with 50 megapixels to throw around. They were also protected from almost all GM employees, closed to all but a small circle of designers and engineers – as was the case with the Super Ford G. The new Corvette would not be pricey super-priced as expensive, though. We hear the foundation of the mid-engine engine platform will be aluminum space structure C7 instead of a completely new design. We also hear there will be a new LT5 engine and plug-in hybrid option on display in the set-top variants.
The Z06 delivers 650 hp, the Stingray and the Grand Sport model with 460 hp (455 hp for Stingray without Exhaust Performance option) which will be thanks to a small 6.2 liter V8 block. The LT4 unit in question has a potrod setting, 16 valves, direct injection and Eaton charger (which is absent in the case of Stingray and Grand Sport model), while the new generation must probably see the same stuff, but with high current power numbers. However, the camshaft column below the cylinder block using rockers to operate only two valves per cylinder seems simply old. So, we expect a new gas-powered mill with two upper camshafts torched four valves per cylinder, or 32 in total where none under eight cylinders have the right housing under the hood of the Fit since 1963. Unless they offer a hybrid model.
Believe it or not “E-Ray” got Moniker’s patent two years ago, and he could actually mean just that. We will not spoil the story now until that certainty becomes complete. As far as we imagine, the ZR1 version of 2019 Corvette C8 (which may be called Manta Re) (or not) may also produce over 800 HP. Until recently a hyper-pure territory. The production will take place at the Corvette House in Bowling Green, Kentucky. GM has spent more than $700 million in upgrades to the plant last year in preparation for the new car, and perhaps the Cadillac science sharing program.
